San Remo NetSetGO!

In 2008, Netball NSW launched Netball Australia’s Junior Netball Program, San Remo NetSetGO!

NetSetGO! has been developed to provide children from the age of 5 to 10 years with the best possible learning and playing experience that enables them to develop a positive introduction to Netball, ensuring enjoyment and continued participation within the sport.

The program has been designed to complement the existing netball infrastructure by providing community groups such as Associations, Clubs and schools with quality resources and equipment to deliver an age and skill appropriate netball program.


Program Benefits for Association / Club / Centre

Netball NSW will assist in the administration and the promotion of your NetSetGO! program.
Benefits include:

  • Opportunity to deliver a program that is nationally branded and endorsed.
  • Participant Packs to offer participants.
  • Opportunity to increase membership from currently untargeted markets therefore increased revenue.
  • The ability to introduce new children to existing Fun Net, Netta and Netball programs.
  • A recognised program to offer to schools and other community groups.
  • Age and skill appropriate session plans for coaches.
  • Flexibility regarding the structure and timeframes for delivery.
  • Each new NetSetGO! Accredited Centre will receive one free equipment kit (valued at $300) which includes;
            1 x mesh carry bag
            2 x sets of positional bibs
            2 x sets of mesh bibs
           12 x bean bags
            6 x hoops
            5 x spike balls
            5 x skipping ropes
           25 x field markers
  • Each 2nd year NetSetGO! Accredited Centre will receive one free ball kit (valued at $100) which includes:
            1 x ball bag
            10 x balls
  • A NetSetGO! resource package which includes two discs. The DVD has visual footage of the foundation skills demonstrated by 10 year olds and again by young elite players.  The CD contains the information required to conduct a successful program.  The content of the CD can be printed to conduct the program and will contain the following information:
              Centre Coordinators handbook
              Coach Coordinators handbook
              Warm-up and cool down and stretching information.
              Coaching points and common errors of the skills
              10 session plans for Fun Net (5-7yrs)
              10 session plans for Netta (8-10yrs)
              Playing for life How to CHANGE IT booklet to assist with modifying games to suit individual groups
              Playing for life netball companion manual (further 8 session plans) and game cards.

How much does San Remo NetSetGO! cost?

  • Accredited Centre:
    Any affiliated Association or Club may apply to become an accredited NetSetGO! Centre at no charge.
  • Individual Participant:
    The Netball NSW charge for Associations / Clubs, per participant is $20.50*.
    Participants receive:
    Backpack
    Ball (Gilbert)
    Activity Book
    Drink Bottle
    Cookbook
    Lip Balm on lanyard
    Gym Towel                         

*Participants must become registered members of the local association and pay relevant membership fee.

Children who participate in NetSetGO! through the Netball NSW Schools Development Program will receive a $15 discount voucher which can be redeemed if they join NetSetGO! at an Association or Club. Netball NSW will only charge the Association or Club $5.50 for this participant (provided the voucher is attached to participants registration form and forwarded to Netball NSW). Another participant kit will not be provided for this participant.

What is expected from an Accredited San Remo NetSetGO! Centre?

In keeping with the philosophy of NetSetGO! it is expected that all accredited NetSetGO! Centres will provide:

  • A program that enables all individuals to experience personal achievement in terms of competence, enhanced self-esteem, social co-operation, maximum participation and skill development in a fun environment.
  • A parent information session to outline the philosophy of the NetSetGO! program.
  • Appropriate warm-up activities.
  • Appropriate skill teaching in a sequential program.
  • Appropriate skill activities and games.
  • Appropriate Netta Netball matches using Netta modified rules.
  • Appropriately trained/accredited coaches and umpires.
  • Ethical behaviour conforming to Netball Australia’s Codes of Behaviour.

San Remo NetSetGO! Ambassadors

Any Association who becomes an accredited NetSetGO! Centre can apply for a visit from a NetSetGo! Ambassador. Ambassadors are elite players competing in the ANZ Championship.

How to Apply

To apply to become an accredited NetSetGO! Centre, simply complete the attached NetSetGO! Centre Application Form and return to Netball NSW at least four weeks prior to your scheduled start date.
