Intermediate General Principles
The Intermediate General Principles is being conducted by the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation on Monday nights from June 21 till August 2. You can choose to attend one or more of the modules. To receive the General Principles certificate you must complete all modules.

June 21 - Basic Anatomy and Biomechanics
June 28 - Nutrition & Growth and Development
July 5 - Sports Psychology and Skill Acquisition
July 12 - Communication Processes and Coaching
July 19 - Introduction to Physiology
July 26 - Planning and  Program Management
August 2 - Anti Doping & The Essence of Coaching 

Times:        Monday evenings, 6.00 - 9.30pm, (supper provided)
Venue:       Centenary Room,  Level 2, NSWIS Building, 6 Figtree Dve., Sydney Olympic Park
Cost:           Whole course - $275 : Individual Work Shop - $40

Mentoring – DOOLEYS State League

Mentoring can mean different things to different people and it occurs in many forms. Mentoring in its basic form involves one person helping another to develop new skills and attitudes. In 2010 Netball NSW and the Coaches Operating Panel will be conducting a Mentoring Program during rounds 2 - 11 of the 2010 DOOLEYS State League competition.

Mentoring Workshop
Calling all Association and Club Coaching Convenor’s. Wishing to recruit and retain coaches within your teams, mentoring is a friendly way to motivate, support and recognise your coaches. Netball NSW will be hosting a Mentoring Workshop on the 6 June 2010 at the Anne Clark Netball Centre and is open to all Coaching Convenor’s and coaches who are interested in learning about mentoring.

Association Foundation and Development Application Forms
To apply for Foundation or Development Courses please complete and return the form below to Netball NSW.

Foundation Course
Development Course

It is the responsibility of the participant for all Foundation and Development Course participant enrolment forms and payment to be made to the Association two weeks prior to the course date.

It is the responsibility of the Association two weeks prior to the course date to confirm with Netball NSW the number of attendees. Once attendance has been confirmed and accepted by Netball NSW any non-attendance after the acceptance date the host Association will be charged.

Foundation Coaching Course
Netball NSW has decided to ensure the delivery of the new Foundation Course is available to as many participants as practical in the short term, the Beginning Coaching General Principles online course will be a prerequisite.

The online course has been developed to assist coaches to learn the basic skills of coaching. It is especially aimed at people coaching children.

The online course is currently available free of charge to Australian coaches due to a subsidy provided by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC).  To access this course please click on the link below and follow the prompts:

Regional Development Visits
Regional Development Visits are held within the regional areas of NSW. The Development Visits are aimed at coaches who wish to gain knowledge of the game and coaching practices. Regional Development Visits are open to all coaches within NSW. Please visit the Netball NSW coaching Calendar or respective regional programs webpage to receive more information.

It is important for all coaches to continually update their skills and education while coaching.
