Changes to On Line Officiating General Principles
It was decided at last year’s UMEC meeting to make the Introductory Officiating General Principles online course compulsory for all Level 1 umpire course participants so that the ASC manuals did not need to be purchased.

Netball Australia has received feedback that the Introductory Officiating General Principles online course is too complex and demanding for young participants – which make up a large percentage of participants in this course.

Netball Australia advises that the Introductory Officiating General Principles online course is no longer a requirement for the Level 1 Umpire Course. Those participants that have already completed the Level 1 course but not the online course may be awarded with the course. Future participants are not required to complete the online course nor purchase the ASC manual.

The National Umpire Strategic Committee will review whether the online course should be included in the accreditation framework when they meet later this year.

Rules in Action: Grafton
NNSW will be running a “Rules in Action” course at Grafton NA, Sunday 19 September 2010. The course will run from 11am- 3.30pm, the cost of the course is $35.

This is an excellent opportunity to ensure everyone, umpires coaches; players have the opportunity to completed RIA in preparation for 2011.

This course is a prerequisite for obtaining National A and All Australian Umpires Award. To maintain testing umpires require Rules in Action or Section 1 Theory exam pass mark of 70% + or Professional component of the Level 2 Umpires course, this will ensure every umpire has an opportunity to update their accreditation in the region.
