REGIONAL SURVEY – HAVE YOUR SAY AND GO INTO THE DRAW TO WIN A NETBALL PRIZE PACK
Have your say into how your West/Central West Region is run.  Please complete the survey and go in the draw to receive a netball prize pack.  Return your survey by 15st August to be in the draw.  Information will be collated for the planning meeting on Sunday 19th September, hosted by Orange Netball Association.  All names will go into the hat and the lucky winner will be drawn out at the planning meeting.

UMPIRING UPDATE
It was decided at last year’s UMEC meeting to make the Introductory Officiating General Principles online course compulsory for all Level 1 umpire course participants so that the ASC manuals did not need to be purchased.  Netball Australia has received feedback that the Introductory Officiating General Principles online course is too complex and demanding for young participants – which make up a large percentage of participants in this course.

Netball Australia advises that the Introductory Officiating General Principles online course is no longer a requirement for the Level 1 Umpire Course. Those participants that have already completed the Level 1 course but not the online course may be awarded with the course. Future participants are not required to complete the online course nor purchase the ASC manual.”The National Umpire Strategic Committee will review whether the online course should be included in the accreditation framework when they meet later this year.

Regional Organising Committee
Congratulations to Rachel Hughes and Leanne McManus who have successfully been appointed as members of the West/Central West Region Regional Organising Committee.   The committee will be allocating umpires for the West/Central West Region State League Competition.  Both Rachel and Leanne have a strong commitment to umpiring within the West/Central West Region and will bring their expertise and experience to this committee. 

2010 Rookie Camp – 13^th and 14^th November 2010
The Rookies Camp is designed for umpires who have recently obtained their National C Badge. This Camp is a gentle introduction to the camp system and provides participants with the opportunity to meet other newly badged umpires.
