About NetSetGO!

 
San Remo NetSetGO! is Netball Australia’s Junior Netball Program. It has been developed to provide children from the age of 5 to 10 years with the best possible learning and playing experience that enables them to develop a positive introduction to Netball, ensuring enjoyment and continued participation within the sport.

San Remo NetSetGO!  incorporates skill activities, minor games and modified matches in a fun and safe environment. The weekly program will be coordinated by accredited coaches to ensure a quality experience for all participants.

The major objectives of San Remo NetSetGO! are:
  • To provide opportunity for every primary school-aged child with the opportunity to experience netball.
  • To deliver a national junior development program that promotes netball participation.
  • To address the issue of childhood obesity by providing a low cost, easily accessible and community-based exercise option.
  • To provide opportunity to meet and interact with elite netball role models.
  • Provide a skill development program that provides young girls with opportunity to experience sport, develop self esteem and learn new skills.
  • To provide opportunities for children and parents to participate in physical activity together.
  • The program has been designed to complement the existing netball infrastructure by providing community groups such as Associations, Clubs and schools with quality resources and equipment to deliver an age and skill appropriate netball program.

    Netball NSW will assist in the administration and the promotion of your NetSetGO! program. Benefits include:

  • Free Centre Equipment Kit to assist with the delivery of San Remo NetSetGO!
  • Resources including:
    • Centre Coordinators handbook.
    • Coach Coordinators handbook.
    • Warm-up and cool down and stretching information.
    • Coaching points and common errors of the skills.
    • 10 session plans for Fun Net (5-7years).
    • 10 session plans for Netta (8-10years).
    • Playing for life How to CHANGE IT booklet to assist with modifying games to suit individual groups.
    • Playing for life netball companion manual (further eight session plans) and game cards.
  • Participant packs to offer participants.
  • Opportunity to deliver a program that is nationally branded and endorsed.
  • National marketing campaign to support the program.
  • Opportunity to increase memberships from currently untargeted markets, therefore increased revenue.

  • How much does NetSetGO! cost?
    Accredited Centre
    Any affiliated Association or Club may apply to become an accredited NetSetGO! Centre at no charge. Non-affiliated groups must pay an annual registration fee. Fee determined by the number of participants. For example, 0-1000=$55.

    Individual Participant
    The Netball NSW charge for Association / Club / Centre, per participant is $20.50. Participants must also become registered members of the local association and pay relevant membership fee.

  • Bib (incl. Fabric pen) (partly supplied by San Remo)
  • Face Washer (supplied by Lorrain Lea Linen)
  • Gel Pens (supplied by Walt Disney Australia)
  • ^Bracelet and charms will be replaced with a pin for the boys kit.

    What is expected from an Accredited NetSetGO! Centre?
    In keeping with the philosophy of NetSetGO! it is expected that all accredited NetSetGO! Centres will provide:

  • A program that enables all individuals to experience personal achievement in terms of competence, enhanced self-esteem, social co-operation, maximum participation and skill development in a fun environment.
  • A parent information session to outline the philosophy of the NetSetGO! program.
  • Appropriate warm-up activities.
  • Appropriate skill teaching in a sequential program.
  • Appropriate skill activities and games.
  • Appropriate Netta Netball matches using Netta modified rules.
  • Appropriately trained/accredited coaches and umpires.
  • Ethical behaviour conforming to Netball Australia’s Codes of Behaviour.
  • NetSetGO! Ambassadors
    Any Association or Club who becomes an accredited NetSetGO! Centre can apply for a visit from a NetSetGO! Ambassador. Ambassadors are elite players competing in the ANZ Championship.

    How to Apply
    To apply to become an accredited NetSetGO! Centre, simply complete the NetSetGO! Centre Registration Form and return to Netball NSW at least four weeks prior to your scheduled start date. Further San Remo NetSetGO! Information will be forwarded to you within 14 days.
