Netball NSW was the big winner at the NSW Sports Awards, picking up five major awards including Organisation of the Year and Administrator of the Year.

A who’s who of NSW sport was in attendance last night to see Netball dominate the awards including Organisation of the Year, Carolyn Campbell for Administrator of the Year, Sharon Kelly for Official of the Year, Tara Warner for Young Official of the Year, a Distinguished Long Service Award for Randwick’s Claire Hicks and the Sports Media Award which was presented to Simone Thurtell (ABC Grandstand) for her coverage of netball.

It was a wonderful celebration for netball, with President Wendy Archer AM highlighting a year of success on and off the court and paying tribute to the volunteers and professional staff for their contribution.

“There isn’t one moment in 2011 that really stands out... it truly is a team effort and 2011 was outstanding but I’ve got no doubt that 2012 is going to be just as good,” Archer said on the night.
