The NSW 19/U Team have finished the opening day of the National Netball Championships with a 1-1 win-loss record after suffering their first loss of the tournament to South Australia, 46-29, in Round 2 at the Silverdome in Tasmania.

Led by a trio of Adelaide Thunderbirds; Maddy Proud, Cody Lange and Amehlia Schmidt, the South Australians proved they will be a force to be reckoned with at these championships.

After a dominant performance by SA in the opening quarter to lead 14-7, NSW were able to reduce their opponent’s scoring rate in the final three quarters but were ultimately unable to close the margin.

After meeting the ACT in their first game tomorrow, NSW will face another tough opponent, Victoria, in tomorrow’s night match.

Statistics and more on the game are available on the Netball Australia website.
