The NSW 19/U Team have guaranteed themselves a place in the finals with one round game still to play after prevailing over Western Australia 41-26 in their Round 6 meeting at the National Netball Championships in Tasmania on Sunday night.

NSW set up a healthy lead in the opening quarter and built on that in the second but WA made some changes heading into the third quarter which made inroads into the margin.

“In the third quarter we probably backed off in intensity a little bit and I think they made a couple of changes to their lineup which took us a little while to adjust to,” NSW Head Coach Megan Simpson said.

“By the fourth quarter we came out with a different strategy which really worked for us and the girls really stepped up and delivered the finish that we were looking for.”

The NSW 19/U Team will play Queensland at 2.30pm in their final game of round play.

Statistics and more on the game are available on the Netball Australia website.
